Mt. Everest Base Camp | 16 Days

Trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp and practice Yoga and meditation at various temples and monasteries on the way.

GoSouthAsia brings you a once in a lifetime opportunity to trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp.  The total duration of the trip is 16 days, which includes sightseeing in Kathmandu, Yoga at Bankali, Meditation at Osho Tapoban, domestic flights to Lukla, and some acclimatization in Namche Bazar.  The core hike, from Lukla to Mt. Everest Base Camp, about 80 miles round trip and takes a span of 12-15 days. Due to the intensity and high altitude, we will only hike about 6-8 hours each day.

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be picked by a GoSouthAsia representative at the airport who will drive to the hotel where you can rest for the day or stroll around central Kathmandu. On the second day, we will sightsee some UNESCO heritage sites including Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, etc. In the evening, you are invited to the welcome dinner hosted by Tara at a local ethnic Nepali restaurant.

The real adventure begins on day three. We will take a 45-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, which is considered one of the most dangerous airstrips in the world, located at about 9,300 feet. At Lukla airport, we will meet with our trekking guide and crew who set you up with gear and provide other information about the trek. Now the adventure starts. We will start hiking from Lukla to Namche Bazar via Phading. We will spend two nights at Namche Bazar to acclimatize and explore life in this beautiful Himalayan town. After several days of trekking through various Himalayan terrains, small towns, and suspension bridges, we will reach to Everest Base Camp on the 10th day of arrival in Nepal. It takes about 5 days to hike back to Lukla, and finally, on day 15, we will be back in Kathmandu. You can take a much-deserved rest and browse through some of the most beautiful photos and memories you’ve captured. On day 16, you can fly back to your home country or spend some more days to explore rest of Kathmandu Valley or travel to any other parts of Nepal.
