The holy Mt. Kailash (6700 m / 21982 ft) and nearby Lake Manasarovar (4500 m – 14764 ft) are pilgrimage site for Buddhist, Bons, Jains, and Hindus.  Mt. Kailash is located in the Tibet autonomous region of China. No one is allowed to climb the holy mountain, but the trekking the circuit around Kailash (Parikrama) offers a rich source of spiritual fulfillment and salvation. Whether you follow a faith or simply looking for a serenity and peace, trek to Mt. Kailash circuit offers everyone a lifetime experience.  Our trip starts from sightseeing in Kathmandu, followed by a drive to Rashua Ghadhi, and entering Tibetan plateau from Keung border, and return Kathmandu the same way.

15 days trip to Mt. Kailash & Mansarovar via Kathmandu – Rasuwa Gadhi – Kerung

  • Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu, meet Tara / her team at the Airport, transfer to the hotel
  • Day 2: Pashupatinath Darshan & VIP Puja, Kathmandu Sightseeing. We will apply the Chinese Visa / Tibet Permit for you, Welcome dinner & Nepali Cultural Show
  • Day 3: Kathmandu Sightseeing, Obtain Chinese Visa / Tibet Travel Permit
  • Day 4: Kathmandu to Rasuwa Gadhi Drive, cross Nepal – Tibet Border at Krung, Overnight stay in Kerung, Tibet
  • Day 5: Rest and acclimatize in Kerung
  • Day 6: Drive to Saga, Overnight stay in Saga
  • Day 7: Drive to Mansarovar, Overnight stay in a guesthouse
  • Day 8: Full Moon – Holy bath and Puja at Mansarovar, drive to Darchen, stay at Himalaya Hotel
  • Day 9: Start Kailash Circuit Trek (Parikrama) from Darchen to Dirapuk, stay in Dehara Puk Hotel
  • Day 10: Kailash Puja and acclimatize in Dirara Puk
  • Day 11: Continue the Trek (Parikrama) to Zutulpuk via Dolma pass to reach Darchen
  • Day 12: Parikrama is complete. Drive from Darchen to Saga, stay in Saga Hotel
  • Day 13: Drive to Kerung | Overnight stay Kerung
  • Day 14: Cross Tibet / Nepal border at Rasuwa Gadhi, Drive to Kathmandu. Arrive and rest in Kathmandu.
  • Your trip ends. You may choose to explore Nepal further or return to your destination. We will drop you off at the Airport.

May to September. People often try to be at the periphery of Mt. Kailash during the full moon.

There are many routes to Mt. Kailash, including

  • Kathmandu – Rasuwa Gadhi – Kerung – Kailash – back the same route.
  • Kathmandu – Nepalgunj – Simikot (trek or helicopter) to – Hilsa, entre Tibet via Purang – drive to Mt.Kailash and back.
  • Kathmandu – Tatopani – Zangmu – Naylam – Mt. Kailash and back. (This route is closed due to 2015 Earthquake)
  • Enter to Tibet from Lhasa and exit from Lhasa
