You will also be doing some hikes, scenic drive, and exploring the Buddhist and mountain culture of Bhutan.  Here are some highlights of how you will be spending your precious time in Bhutan:

Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan: Explore all the main monasteries and fortresses, visit of the traditional painting school, Takin Preserve, Kuenselphodrang, and Tashicchodzong.

Punakha, the old capital of Bhutan: Thimpu to Punakha Drive (about 3 hrs),  a shortstop at Dochula pass (3050m) with the most beautiful views of Bhutan. Visit Punakha Dzong, the 17th-century fortress, and to visit the local market.    

Paro, a historic town with many sacred sites: Sightseeing around the Chimme Lhakhang, visit of Paro Rinpung Dzong, Ta-Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest shrines, and the visit to the local monasteries  & historical marketplaces. 

Taktsang Monastery:    Hike to Taktsang monastery, also known as the Tiger Nest Monastery. It is one of the most beautiful and the must-visit locations in Bhutan.
